Carolina Fernandez is a rare combination of analytical precision and creative vision. Her journey from Wall Street financial advisor to artist, author, and social entrepreneur reflects her belief that life's most meaningful work happens at unexpected intersections.
With four books spanning personal finance, interior design, and personal development, Carolina has established herself as a voice who refuses to be confined to a single category. Her debut, Rocket Mom! 7 Strategies to Blast You Into Brilliance, drew from the adventures of raising four children while moving to eleven different homes across the country. Country French Kitchens became the first book to explore and photograph Country French style in American kitchens. Palm Beach Panache unearthed the art and design scene of one of America's most storied destinations, while her latest work, What Color is Your Purse?, translates the language of Wall Street for women and creatives, blending hard financial facts with the kind of wisdom that can only come from someone who has lived on both sides of the ledger.
Her writing has appeared in more than two hundred original published articles, syndicated across blogs, newspapers, and newsletters. She has been quoted in publications including Parenting, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, and Advertising Age, and has appeared on NPR, Martha Stewart Living Radio, and FOX Business.
As an artist, Carolina paints fearless. Her signature expressionistic flowers—rendered in quick, bold strokes and a bright, snappy palette—reflect years of study with masters from Miami to Connecticut. She trained first with a Colombian mentor in plein air sessions by the pool, then refined her style under the tutelage of Master Painter Clyde Smith at Silvermine Arts Center. Her work, she says, transmits the wellspring of her soul: peace, gratitude, and joy overflowing.
Today, Carolina and her husband run flourFLOWER, a social enterprise serving families living in extreme poverty in rural Rwanda. What began with a single bakery in 2014 has grown to produce over one-and-a-half million pieces of bread per year, feeding 39,000 people every week, per bakery. Carolina also works alongside teams of Rwandan women and girls to create artisanal accessories—handcrafted pieces designed to bring joy to both maker and receiver. Her art collaborations there have led to mixed-media works, including large-scale Pop Art Hearts made from hundreds of handmade pom poms.
Carolina holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from Wake Forest University, an M.B.A. from the University of Kentucky, and certifications in Art Business (NYU), Entrepreneurship (Harvard Business School), and Social Venture Research (Princeton). She maintains studios in Miami and a cottage in the woods of Connecticut.
Every purchase helps us build bakeries, feed communities, and create opportunities for women. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
